Yahukimo

Yahukimo is one of the largest regencies in Papua with the wide 17,152 km². It has been a regency on December 11^th 2003 from Jayawijaya. Name of the Yahukimo has taken from several tribes in it. They are Yali, Hubla, Kimyal and Momuna.

It is valley area so it is hot if it is sunny but it is always easy to find rivers because there are lots of them directly from the mountain areas so the water are so coldest and it is safer to swim. The people enjoy living there.

The forest areas are very green and large so the societies are easy to find the goods from the forest like some woods to burn or go hunting to get some animals to eat so all are available there.

 It has big seven tribes. There are Yali,Hubla,Kimyal,Momuna,Mek, Unaukam and Ngalik. They have different cultures and also the languages those really unique but they coexist well. In general, the people are very friendly but if some people make rough to the others, it will be a problem. So it depends on the situation.

 My hometown decided into two areas. There are mountain areas and valley areas. The most societies are from mountain areas because in this area has six tribes but valley area it’s just Momuno tribe but they life well and safely.

I am amazed with the transportations there because it is pertained new regency but the government there could present a big type of airplane like Boing. It is one of great breakthroughs that the government made to develop the regency. The other side is the small ships can through a big river called Lokbon River from Asmat and Timika and it always brings some goods those the people need. Yahukimo is one of the regency in mountain areas have two lanes transportation that are something that makes me proud of it. But the problem is the price of the goods that imported by airplanes or ships never go down. But anyway I like to live there because there has really fresh air because there are so many trees it produce more oxygen so it good place spend my time
